Snow...and the cat
An early spring snow frames the few remaining crocuses in my yard. The yellow ones are not so hardy. I really like the snow; it covers the dead leaves that need to be collected and tossed. I miss the green, though; the new leaves can't come soon enough. Not a fan of the inevitable shedding of the winter coat, though, which this year has been hastened with a visiting flea--or more. Never had these with the cats before, but one dental procedure a few weeks ago necessitated an overnight at the vet's and...voila! The kitty is denuding himself! He'd already lost bands around his front legs for various IV things for the dental procedure, rendering him a poodle cat. Now he's mad because I took him back less than two weeks later for a blood draw (kidney tests), steroids (dermatitis), antibiotics (dermatitis)and subQ fluids (kidneys). He lost his brother to renal failure that we caught too late, so we're dealing with it preventatively now.
Left, he fails to catch the second hand on the clock.
Right, he's loving on one of his babies. He's got about eight of these small stuffed animals he carries around the house like kill. The day after our first cat died, Teddy placed five of them on the couch where Kasey slept most often. He'd never done that before and never since.
